This five-day event was held from September 25-30, 1998 and nearly 300 Vaishnavis attended. It was our intention to hear from a wide array of Vaishnavis and to share our devotional understandings, our service experiences, and our cares and woes. In essence, we wanted to provide a forum for each Vaishnavi to feel connected and valued through discussion, thought, and interaction.
It was so encouraging to put these principles into actions. We found that everyone had something relevant and thought provoking to share. Rather than generating dissension and dissatisfaction, as some may assert would be the purpose of a women’s conference, we found deep gratitude, appreciation, and integrity. Everyone had something to share, something to give, and that enriched our hearts and minds.
